Matt Toms, CFA
Chief Executive Officer
Matt Toms is the chief executive officer of Voya Investment Management, the asset management business of Voya Financial. As CEO, Toms leads the strategic direction and operational performance of Voya Investment Management, which manages strategies spanning public and private fixed income, equities, multi-asset solutions and alternative strategies for institutions, financial intermediaries and individual investors. Voya Investment Management has domestic offices in New York City, Atlanta, San Diego and San Francisco, among others, as well investment teams in London, UK.
Matt has over 30 years of asset management experience, both domestically and internationally. Prior to becoming CEO, Matt was global chief investment officer and CIO of fixed income at Voya Investment Management and led a team of investment professionals with broad oversight of Voya’s public fixed income, private fixed income and alternatives, equities, and multi-asset strategies and solutions. Before joining Voya, Matt worked at Calamos Investments, where he built their fixed income business. He also has prior portfolio management experience at Northern Trust and Lincoln National. Matt serves on Voya Financial’s Executive Committee and is a board member of Pomona Capital. He earned a BBA from the University of Michigan and is a CFA® Charterholder.
Eric Stein, CFA
Head of Investments and CIO of Fixed Income
Eric Stein is the head of investments and chief investment officer of fixed income at Voya Investment Management. As head of investments with broad responsibility for Voya IM’s public markets platforms, Eric leads teams of investment professionals across fixed income, multi-asset strategies and solutions, income and growth and equities. As CIO of fixed income, he is also directly responsible for oversight of the portfolio management of the fixed income platform and leadership of the fixed income investment professionals. Prior to Voya, Eric was chief investment officer for fixed income at Eaton Vance and Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he was responsible for overseeing over 275 investment professionals managing strategies with approximately $200 billion in assets under management across the fixed income spectrum for institutions and individual investors worldwide. He previously was co-head of the global macro/emerging market debt group at Eaton Vance. Eric earlier worked on the Markets Desk at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Eric earned a BS from Boston University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a CFA ® Charterholder.
Vincent Costa, CFA
Chief Investment Officer, Equities
Vincent Costa is chief investment officer, equities at Voya Investment Management and also serves as a portfolio manager for the active quantitative and fundamental large cap value strategies. Previously at Voya, he was head of the global quantitative equity team. Prior to joining Voya, he managed quantitative equity investments at both Merrill Lynch Investment Management and Bankers Trust Company. Vinnie earned an MBA in finance from New York University's Stern School of Business and a BS in quantitative business analysis from Pennsylvania State University. He is a CFA® Charterholder.
Michael Granoff
Chief Executive Officer, Private Equity Funds - Pomona Capital
Michael Granoff is the CEO of Pomona Capital, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Voya, focused on the purchase of primary and secondary interests in top performing venture and buyout funds. Prior to founding Pomona, he worked in the private equity business, serving as the president of partnerships organized to purchase secondary interests in venture capital/buyout funds. Michael also served as a director of private companies engaged in electronics, media, healthcare, manufacturing, interactive software, and financial services, while serving as president of Golodetz Ventures and vice president of TEI Industries. Previously, he was on the staff of the U.S. House of Representatives appropriations subcommittee on foreign operations. Michael served on the presidential transition team for the Department of the Treasury in 1992, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Former President Clinton appointed him to the Board of the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund, where he served as chairman, and he is also the Chairman of the Board of the American Bank of Albania. Michael earned a JD from Georgetown University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Justin M Kass, CFA
Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer, Co-Head of Income & Growth
Justin Kass is chief investment officer, co-head of income and growth at Voya Investment Management. He joined the firm following Voya’s integration of certain assets and teams comprising the substantial majority of Allianz Global Investors U.S. (“AllianzGI”) business, where he was a portfolio manager, managing director, CIO and co-head of the U.S. income and growth strategies team with portfolio management, research and trading responsibilities for the income and strategies team. Prior to that at AllianzGI, Justin held portfolio manager responsibilities for the U.S. convertible strategy and was a lead portfolio manager for the income and growth strategy since its inception and was also responsible for managing multiple closed-end and open-end mutual funds. Justin earned a BS from the University of California, Davis and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a CFA® Charterholder.
Chris Lyons, CFA
Head of Private Fixed Income and Alternatives
Chris Lyons is a managing director and head of private fixed income and alternatives at Voya Investment Management, responsible for partnering with our clients and internal stakeholders to develop new innovative products and solutions, while ensuring the scalability of the platform for current and future teams. Prior at Voya, Chris was the managing director and group head of Voya’s private credit investment grade and infrastructure businesses where, along with his direct responsibilities in private credit, Chris was also active in overall management of Voya’s fixed income franchise. He has over 30 years of lending and investment experience with the large majority of that time spent with Voya working in and then leading the development of its private lending effort. Prior to joining Voya, he worked as a commercial and investment banker for SunTrust Banks, Inc. Chris earned a BS from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a CFA® Charterholder.
Michael Peters
Chief Operating Officer, Voya Investment Management
Michael Peters is senior managing director and chief operating officer at Voya Investment Management, responsible for operations, data & analytics, product solutions, client service, and technology. He joined the firm following Voya’s acquisition of certain teams and associated assets from Allianz Global Investors U.S. (“AllianzGI”) business. Prior to joining Voya IM, he was based in Europe as head of investment business management and member of the Investment Executive Committee at AllianzGI. During his tenure at AllianzGI, Michael served in various roles including COO Europe and global head of operations, where he was the responsible lead for the Alternatives Build Out of Allianz Global Investors and, he was globally responsible for Allianz Insurance Asset Management coordinating Allianz Global Investors’ activities around insurance asset management. Michael’s career at Allianz started as a senior risk manager before taking over the role as head of products, initially for retail Germany, and later the whole of Europe including the institutional product offering also overseeing fund research and fund sourcing. He began his career at Dresdner Bank AG and held a series of roles before Dresdner was acquired by Allianz. Michael earned a degree in economics from the Frankfurt School of Finance.
Tiffani Potesta
Head of Distribution
Tiffani Potesta is head of distribution at Voya Investment Management. As head of distribution, she oversees all distribution aspects of Voya’s institutional, insurance and intermediary business, including setting the strategic direction across U.S. and international sales, distribution strategy, product positioning, client service, relationship management and marketing. Tiffani has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the asset management industry. Prior to joining Voya, she held several senior leadership positions at Schroders where she was most recently chief strategy officer, head of distribution. Prior to that, Tiffani was head of DCIO (defined contribution investment only) and third-party insurance channels at DWS Investments. She has also held senior roles at First Eagle Funds and Allianz Global Investors.
Barbara Reinhard, CFA
Senior Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer, Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions
Barbara Reinhard is the chief investment officer, multi-asset strategies and solutions at Voya Investment Management. She is responsible for the strategic direction and overall day-to-day portfolio management and human capital management of Voya’s multi-asset business. Prior to joining Voya, Barbara was the chief investment officer for Credit Suisse Private Bank in the Americas where she managed discretionary multi-asset portfolios and was a member of the global asset allocation and the employee pension investment committees. Prior to that, she worked at Morgan Stanley as the deputy chief investment strategist for the global wealth management division. Barbara earned a BA in economics from Trinity College and is a CFA® Charterholder.
Amir Sahibzada
Chief Risk Officer, Voya Investment Management
Amir Sahibzada is chief risk officer at Voya Investment Management, responsible for an integrated, company-wide platform that covers investment and operational risk management. Amir is a member of the management committee and reports to the chief executive officer of Voya Investment Management, maintaining a functional reporting line to the chief risk officer of Voya Financial, Inc. Previously at Voya, Amir was head of investment risk, overseeing all market, credit and counterparty risk management activities across investment portfolios. Prior to joining Voya, he was managing director and global head of risk management with D.B. Zwirn & Co. (now Fortress Investment Group), a multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to that, Amir was head of traded risk management for ABN AMRO Bank North America and its subsidiaries. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and a BA in physics and mathematics from Wabash College in Indiana.
Christian Wilson, CFA
Head of IM Product and Strategy
Chris Wilson is head of IM product and strategy at Voya Investment Management, responsible for strategy, product development and solutions. This includes providing key insights and leadership in strategic positioning for growth, while managing IM’s evolving array of products and client solutions. Chris also serves as a partner to the Mutual Fund Board and president of the Voya Mutual Funds. Previously, Chris was Voya’s head of global client portfolio management. Prior to joining Voya, he was head of the North America fixed income client portfolio management team at AllianceBernstein, where he began his career and served in multiple roles including fixed income portfolio manager, currency trader, quantitative analyst and head of fixed income product management. Chris earned a BS in mathematics/management from LeMoyne College and is a CFA® Charterholder.
Markus Wolff
Chief Financial Officer, Voya Investment Management
Markus Wolff is managing director, chief financial officer and member of the executive leadership team at Voya Investment Management. In his role he oversees Voya Investment Management’s entire Finance function as well as the mutual fund administration team. He joined the firm following Voya’s acquisition of certain teams and associated assets from Allianz Global Investors U.S. (“AllianzGI”) business. Prior to joining Voya IM, he was heading the US business management and distribution strategy function at Allianz Global Investors. As a member of the US senior leadership team and the distribution leadership team he was responsible for overseeing all business development and change activities in Americas from a corporate and organizational perspective. In former roles at Allianz Global Investors, Markus was heading the global financial planning & analytics function, where he was responsible for the budgeting and planning process of the entire firm and leading the efforts on developing a state-of-the art executive management analytics framework. He was involved in all major corporate projects including mergers and acquisition initiatives and broader business and corporate transformation activities. Markus earned an MA in banking and finance and a BA in business administration, both from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management based in Frankfurt, Germany.
